A Wild Lavender Colored Mushroom (With Ruffles)

 

The Sierra Nevada forests are filled with an enormous variety of wild mushrooms.
This particular specimen was about three inches across.  Taken at Fleming Meadow,
Trail #8, near Jenkinson Lake off Sly Park Road, Pollock Pines California,
in the Sierra Nevada Foothills.
