A Coral-Like Mushroom

The Sierra Nevada forests are filled with an enormous variety of wild mushrooms.
This specimen looks not unlike a large chunk of coral.  Taken at Fleming Meadow,
Trail #8, near Jenkinson Lake off Sly Park Road, Pollock Pines California,
in the Sierra Nevada Foothills.
