Home Up Clariese Daisy Fluffy Lizzie Munchkin Tricot

This is my dog, Fluffy.  Part Husky and part German Shepherd, she is lovingly called the Great White Polar Pooch.  She's almost 16 years old and shows it.  Even though she's half deaf and can barely walk, she's still just as loving and cuddly as she was as a puppy....though about 10 times bigger.  :)

Update 5-27-2001

Tonight at 7:20 PM, Fluffy passed away.  3 days after her 16th birthday, she was euthanized at the Studio City Animal Hospital after being diagnosed with blood poisoning and a uterian infection.  She was in some discomfort, and the decision was made to relieve her suffering before it became too painful.  The alternative would have been to remove her uterus and go through intensive therapy which at her age, she most likely would not have survived.  She is missed by all who knew her, and she will never be forgotton.  Her ashes will arrive in a few days, and at that time we will decide what to do with them.  Fluffy's personal items (her favorite chew toy, her collar, and a lock of her fur that I took when she died), will be displayed in a small corner of our home.  I will update this site over the next few days with more pictures and perhaps a few video clips of her life.  She was a member of our family, and we will never again be whole without her.  Goodbye, you Great White Polar Pooch.   Goodbye, my oldest and closest friend.  Goodbye, Fluffy.

Update 6-27-2001

Fluffy's ashes arrived at our house on the 31st of May.  I would have updated the site then, but this is the first time I felt comfortable with returning here.  It has been one month to the day since Fluffy died and we all still miss her terribly.  Her ashes, along with her few personal items (chew toy, collar, etc.) are safely tucked away in one of my dresser drawers.  We may purchase an urn or a small cabinet for her sometime but we haven't thought much about that lately.  I put up her last video so everybody could see what a beautiful dog she was.  Our cats spent the last couple weeks grieving...they knew something was wrong but they didn't know what.  They're back to "normal" now, I think they finally realize that Fluffy is gone and not coming back.  Anyways, the video is up for all to see, and I may put some more pictures here at a later date.

See the last video of Fluffy, filmed in early 2000, a few months before her 15th birthday.  The video is just over 7 minutes long and is in Real Player format.

"Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.  When a pet dies -- one that's been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.  There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.  There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable, fear and worry free.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and the vigor of youth.  Those who were abused, hurt, or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we would want to remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them -- someone who had to be left behind.  That someone was kind, gentle, and loving.  That someone who took the extra step, stayed the extra minute, reached out and touched with love, even once.

The animals all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.  His bright eyes are intent, his eager body quivers.  Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyus reunion, never to be parted again.  The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the big trusting eyes of your special love, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
